The goodwill of women increases in the of world– Mamta Sharma


Jaipur, May 26, 2012. National Women Commission chairperson Mamta Sharma said the goodwill of women has increased in the present system of the world. She said active participation of women can be seen in every step of the human society, but even today women have to face many challenges. Women are unaware of their constitutional rights especially the rural women, whom are to be made aware about their rights. National Women Commission is committed to make women alert at every level towards their rights. For this, women empowerment campaign is being run in the entire country. She said this campaign has got wide support from every section of the society.
Mamta Sharma was addressing a national seminar organised by National Women Commission and Message Organization at Poornima Engineering College. The seminar focussing on Women Rights, Empowerment campaign was also addressed by Message organization spoke person Purnima Koul She said that Women Commission has been focussing in rural areas along with urban areas. She said literacy and education have spread due to various schemes of the government and because of this, the commission is getting success in carrying the information of  rights to the women in rural areas. She praised media for its sensitivity towards the issues related to women.

Justice Panachand Jain said women have been given equal rights as of men based on constitution. He said rural women do not have information about their rights due to which they become the victim of exploitation at many levels. Education and information of law can only free them from this exploitation.

On this occasion CRPF IG Ravindra Tomar said women’s interest has increased towards police and defence services. Women are playing commendable role in country’s internal and external security services. He said there are many types of adverse situations at the work place before working women, which is subject of concern, although, there are many laws to build positive environment for women. He stressed on the need of women knowing these laws and rights.

Poornima Group of Institute president Dr SM Seth said that only with widespread of education, the women empowerment campaign can be made popular in each and every village in the country. He said along with science and technical education, the institute has made special wing for creating awareness of social issues and rights associated with women.

Rajasthan University’s Law College vice principal Dr Madhu Shastri said help of law could not be taken without awareness. The women themselves have to take initiative to get rid of the situation. The law is with women in every tough time. She said the representation of women has increasing in getting law education, which is a positive indication for the society.

The keynote speaker of the seminar Dr Raj Kumar Vyas gave detailed introduction of the women empowerment campaign and expressed the need of mixed efforts. Dr Vyas called positive thinking to be the base of social change. He praised national and state women commission along with Message Sansthan for their coordinated efforts.

Large number of women from rural areas of Jaipur district attended the seminar, along with students of Poornima College too actively participated and asked questions to subject experts.

On this occasion, social activists working in the field of women empowerment were felicitated. In the end, Message Sansthan’s Deepak Goswami gave vote of thanks to participants.
